Louis Murphy’s fantasy football value on the rise

Per Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Louis Murphy has been traded to the Carolina Panthers. What the Raiders will receive in return has yet to be disclosed, but the move could provide Murphy with his best chance for fantasy relevance since the 2010 season.
The Panthers have long needed a threat to compliment Steve Smith, but have failed to find anyone capable of filling the role. Though his average statistical output is on par with current wideout Brandon LaFell, the trade could signal a lack of trust in his ability. In Murphy, the Panthers get a player who has played a prominent offensive role in the past, and could draw some attention away from Smith. Even if he does win the No. 2 wide receiver job, fantasy owners should still consider Murphy no more than a late-round selection.
In Oakland, the move basically solidifies the roles of Darrius Heywward-Bey and Denarius Moore as the top two options in the Silver & Black pass attack. Jacoby Ford figures to be third on the depth chart. Moore, a sleeper on NFL.com, could turn into a great draft bargain. His current ADP on NFL.com is Round 12.
