NFL and movies month continues to roll ahead, but while we take a brief intermission, here’s a look back at some of the stuff you might have missed along the way.
- May 4 was “Star Wars Day” (you know, as in May the Fourth be with you) and we unofficially kicked off the festivities with a look at NFL and “Star Wars” connections.
- What are the best 34 football movies of all-time? Was it “Remember the Titans?” “Rudy?” Or maybe it’s a movie you’ve never seen or heard of. You’ll just have to click through to see. Our blue-ribbon panel selected the top 34 football movies of all time.
- We should be honest, the movie industry has struggled when it comes to making good football movies. So here’s an open letter to Hollywood about football movies.
- One of the summer’s biggest blockbusters is “Men in Black III.” We honored a different version of the Men in Black, as we counted down the top Raiders of all-time. Pick Six: Men in Black the all-time Raiders.
- Let the arguments begin, who was the best movie quarterback of all time? And here’s a hint, it’s not a guy you are thinking of. In fact, it’s probably a guy you wouldn’t have even guessed.
- And if you’ve ever been stuck wondering, “which quarterback played by Keanu Reeves was the best?”, don’t fret. We have you covered there, too. Gridiron Breakdown: Johnny Utah vs. Shane Falco.
- And if you loved Scott Bakula in “Necessary Roughness” you’ll be happy to know we look back fondly on his performance.
- There have been a lot of great teams portrayed in football movies. But what was the best high school team of all time? You can check out our list of best high school teams in football movies.
- Who made the best NFL player movie cameos? Yep, we have that, too.
- A lot of you are fans of the movie “M*A*S*H,” which featured a hilarious football scene which included Fred “The Hammer” Williamson. But did it top the list of the best football scenes in non-football movies.
- Ice-T stopped by the NFL Network studios to discuss his favorite football movie.
- Rex Ryan Oscar contender? Hollywood weighs in.
- And while we were on the red carpet of Adam Sandler‘s “That’s My Boy,” we asked celebrities to select their favorite football movies.
