Jabar Gaffney, Patriots agree to two-year deal

Former Redskins WR Jabar Gaffney has agreed to a two-year deal with the New England Patriots, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The Patriots confirmed Gaffney signed with the team on Monday.

The Redskins released Gaffney on Tuesday, even though the 31-year-old receiver was coming off his most productive season as a pro, with 68 catches for 947 yards and five touchdowns.

Gaffney, a second-round pick by the Texans in the 2002 NFL Draft, was in Houston for four seasons before spending three with the Patriots and two with the Broncos. He played just one year with the Redskins.
