Fletcher’s ‘Skins deal for two years, $10.75M

While LB London Fletcher‘s deal with the Washington Redskins is technically for five years, it will expire in two, a league source said Monday.

That the contract is structured that way allows for some salary-cap relief. Washington has structured several contracts that way this offseason after incurring penalties from the league for salary-cap infractions.

Fletcher’s contract is with worth $10.75 million over the first two years, with $5.25 million fully guaranteed.

Fletcher agreed to the deal last week, first announcing the development over his Twitter account.

“Redskins fans your captain is back!” he tweeted.

Fletcher has 1,546 tackles and 34 sacks in 14 career seasons. He’s been with the Redskins for the past five years.
