The Washington Redskins have signed safety Tanard Jackson to a one-year deal, according to a league source.
Jackson was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday after a failed physical. Jackson is three months removed from a failed physical, but his agent said Jackson will be 100 percent for training camp.
Jackson will be reunited with his former head coach, Raheem Morris, who is currently the Redskins’ secondary coach.
Jackson was suspended for a year in 2010 for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. He started 10 games last season and had 35 tackles and two interceptions.
