Lions not interested in trading for Eagles CB Samuel

The Lions aren’t interested in CB Asante Samuel, league sources said Thursday.
The Eagles again are shopping Samuel, who’s in the last year of his deal. But reports of Detroit being a suitor for his services aren’t true.
The Titans do have some interest, but no deal is imminent.
Philadelphia also shopped Samuel before last season’s trade deadline, when they sought two mid-round picks in return.
The Eagles could end up taking a fourth-round draft pick for Samuel, who has a cap figure of over $8 million and is part of a crowded secondary.
His contract, age (31) and difficulties defending against the run are limiting his trade market, according to teams that have been approached by the Eagles. Sources said the Eagles hoped to get a third-rounder for him but the market at that level of compensation would be soft.
