Ochocinco reworks contract with Patriots

Chad Ochocinco has reworked his contract to try to remain with the Patriots, according to a league source.
Ochocinco reduced his 2012 base salary from $3 million to $1 million after a 2011 season in which he started just three of 15 games and caught a career-low 15 passes for 276 yards and only one touchdown.
The Patriots are loading up on receivers on lower-scale, short-term contracts, other than Brandon Lloyd. They’re also still carrying Wes Welker on the franchise tag, and there has been little movement on a longer-term deal.
