Mayock: Luck makes throwing look easy

NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock continued to be impressed by the ease with which Andrew Luck threw the football at Stanford’s pro day Thursday.
“When I watch this kid throw, it always looks like he’s warming up,” Mayock said on NFL Network.
Mayock and NFL Network’s Paul Burmeister noted Luck’s balance, pocket presence, footwork and release throughout the different types of throws he attempted.
“I would say he’s as good a prospect as we’ve had at this position,” Mayock said.
The pair acknowledged that Luck has a bit of a “funky” delivery, but he’s able to get the ball where it needs to be. They also dismissed concerns about his arm strength. Mayock suggested that the ease with which Luck appears to throw the ball deceives some into thinking he’s not putting much muscle into it.
“If he’s not a very good NFL quarterback, it’s not going to be because of his arm strength,” Burmeister said.
