The New England Patriots have signed former Broncos tight end Daniel Fells to a three-year deal, per a league source.
NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reports Fells’ deal is worth $5.25 million, with $2 million guaranteed, according to a league source.
On a team flush with talented tight ends in the form of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, Fells adds depth.
With the Broncos in 2011, Fells caught 19 passes for 256 yards after spending the previous three seasons with the Rams, where he generated 69 receptions for 745 yards and five scores.
Fells was first picked up by the Rams in 2008 after going undrafted out of California-Davis.
