Several of the best available free-agent running backs met with teams over the weekend. Here’s a breakdown of the action:
» According to league sources, Mike Tolbert remains in Carolina on Sunday night, having dinner with Panthers team officials. He previously visited Kansas City, but the Chiefs signed Peyton Hillis instead, and Tolbert’s return to the Chargers seems unlikely at best at this point.
» Michael Bush met with Bengals coach Marvin Lewis during Arizona State’s pro day, sources said, and they had lunch together. But his visit with the Bengals doesn’t begin until Monday, sources said. He visited the Bears last week and several teams looking at him as a 1A or 1B back. Several people around the league believe Bush would be a good fit for the Jets, who have Shonn Greene as their starter.
» BenJarvus Green-Ellis arrived in Cincinnati on Sunday, according to a league source. He remains in negotiations to stay with the Patriots, and at least one other team — possibly the Jets — is expressing interest as well.
