Dolphins to meet with ex-Jags QB Garrard

The Dolphins’ pursuit of a quarterback now includes another former NFL starter — David Garrard.

According to a league source, Garrard, who’s healthy after missing the 2011 season with a back injury, is set for a visit with Miami personnel. Matt Flynn met with the team over the weekend, and Alex Smith landed in South Florida to visit Sunday morning.

The Dolphins offered Garrard a contract last season when Chad Henne was lost to an injury, but the sides failed to agree on terms before the former Jaguars starter eventually required season-ending surgery.
