Peyton Manning has told teams that he plans to make a decision on his future Monday or Tuesday, according to league sources.
Manning worked out for the Broncos on Friday, for the 49ers on Tuesday and for the Titans on Saturday. Teams are being cautious about banking on a decision happening earlier in the week, because the process already has gone so long. But that is the time frame the free-agent QB provided.
A source said earlier Friday that the parameters of the five-year, $90 million contract that Manning signed with the Colts in August are serving as the starting point for negotiations on his next NFL deal. The contract is expected to include protections for a team in regard to his repeated neck problems, and the structure could vary from the original deal.
