Arizona State held its pro day on Friday, with players working outdoors on grass with 20 teams in attendance. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was on hand, as were defensive backfield coaches from the Cardinals and Lions.
Quarterback Brock Osweiler was an anticipated participant, but he opted to push back his workout instead. Osweiler will now go on March 29, the day after Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill‘s scheduled workout. Osweiler sprained his foot in ASU’s loss to the Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl, an injury that kept him from participating in the combine.
Omar Bolden, CB (5-foot-10 1/2, 203 pounds) — Bolden is a talented player who missed the entire 2011 season following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery. He put together a solid workout, though hardly sensational. Bolden posted 4.59 and 4.61 in the 40-yard dash, a 4.62 short shuttle and 6.93 three-cone drill.
Vontaze Burfict, LB (6-1 3/4, 251 pounds) — Big things were expected of Burfict heading in 2011, but a locker room fight with a teammate helped derail his season. He didn’t run or take part in the broad jump, but he posted a 30-inch vertical, 4.68 short shuttle, 7.42 three-cone drill and 16 strength lifts.
Garth Gerhart, OL (6-1 3/8, 314) — The younger brother of Vikings running back Toby Gerhart, Garth posted dash times of 5.35 and 5.33 and put up 33 strength lifts. He didn’t have a positional workout because there weren’t any line coaches on hand.
Jamaar Jarrett, DE (6-5 5/8, 265) — Jarrett posted 4.90 and 4.91 in the dash, a 31 1/2 inch vertical and 9-5 broad jump. He added a 4.69 short shuttle, 7.11 three-cone drill and 15 strength lifts.
Gerell Robinson, WR (6-3 1/2, 229) — Robinson ran a 4.19 short shuttle, 7.13 three-cone drill and went through positional workouts. He weighted measured short shuttle and three-cone drills, and stood on his 40 time at the combine.
