Re-signing Grubbs a tall order for Ravens

After Carl Nicks agreed to a huge deal with the Bucs on Tuesday, the Ravens’ challenge to re-sign guard Ben Grubbs might have gotten even tougher.
The Ravens had what they thought was a competitive offer on the table for Grubbs about a week before free agency. They were willing to take him close to the five-year, $32 million deal (around $6.5M annually) they gave stud guard Marshal Yanda a year ago.
Grubbs believed he could push $8 million on the open market, and now Nicks has pushed $9 million.
The Saints just lost Nicks and now have an eye on Grubbs as a replacement. It remains to be seen if the Ravens can win this bidding war.
