The Giants have reached terms on a one-year, $2.5 million contract with former Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett, according to a league source.
Bennett now joins the Cowboys’ division rival after spending the last four seasons as the backup to Jason Witten in Dallas. The Giants had a need at tight end after serious knee injuries to Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum in Super Bowl XLVI.
Bennett was a second-round pick of the Cowboys in the 2008 NFL Draft.
