Finnegan will get $27 million guaranteed from Rams

The Rams broke the bank when it comes to the contract for CB Cortland Finnegan.

Finnegan’s deal with the Rams is substantial — five years with a maximum value of $50 million, including $27 million guaranteed, according to a league source.

Finnegan will make $33 million during the first three years of the contract, putting him just shy of Nnamdi Asomugha ($12 million) and Darrelle Revis ($13.3 million) in terms of average salary for cornerbacks over the first three years of the deal.

In contrast, the deal CB Carlos Rogers agreed to with the 49ers on Tuesday was for four years and worth a maximum of $31.3 million.
