Chargers look to WR Royal

The next stop for free-agent WR Eddie Royal will be with the Chargers, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Royal has been in deep contract talks with the Redskins and several other interested teams.

Royal, 25, is drawing attention on the free-agent market after posting just 19 receptions for 155 yards and one touchdown in 12 games last season for the Broncos, by far the worst season of his career.

The Chargers watched WR Vincent Jackson move to the Buccaneers, and lost out on free-agent WR Pierre Garcon to the Redskins, but signed WR Robert Meachem.
