Freeney a valuable trade chip for rebuilding Colts

As the Indianapolis Colts continue a complete overhaul of their operations, defensive end Dwight Freeney has emerged as the team’s one remaining asset that could help them in this year’s NFL Draft.
Freeney is a seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end who, at 32, still figures to have some years left in the tank. Indianapolis obviously won’t trade the No. 1 overall pick, but dealing Freeney for additional draft picks will aid the rebuilding process.
Last season, Freeney finished with 8.5 sacks in 16 games. He’s had at least 10 sacks in seven of his 10 seasons.
