Chiefs, Colts will host TE Carlson for visits

Former Seahawks TE John Carlson will visit the Chiefs and Colts on free-agent visits, according to league sources.

Carlson has proven to be a weapon in three seasons with Seahawks, but he posted his lowest receiving totals (31 receptions for 318 yards and one touchdown) in 2011.

He could fill the role previously held by TE Dallas Clark in Indianapolis, providing a security blanket in the middle of the field for rookie QB Andrew Luck, who’s expected to be selected No. 1 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.
