The free-agent market for veteran Randy Moss continues to take shape, as the veteran receiver will visit the 49ers on Monday, according to league sources.
Moss’ expected workout might include an unusual twist: catching passes from San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh.
49ers CEO Jed York tweeted Sunday night: “Former Colt Pro Bowl QB throwing for 49ers tomorrow.”
Before too much could be read into that message, York sent this tweet: “Just to clarify, Coach Harbaugh is turning into Capt Comeback to throw to Randy Moss.”
Moss also has ongoing dialogue with two other teams. He recently visited the Saints and several other teams expressed interest following an impressive workout with New Orleans.
While the process of returning to the NFL for Moss has included workouts up to this point, for other teams that know him well — like the Patriots, for instance — a workout in all likelihood wouldn’t be as imperative for him to sign.
