Tatupu agrees to deal with Falcons; Lofton on way out?

Ex-Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu has agreed to terms on a deal with the Falcons and there’s a very good chance he will replace Curtis Lofton, league sources said Saturday.

The Falcons later confirmed they’ve agreed to terms on a deal with Tatupu, via a team statement.

Lofton has been a starter for the Falcons for the past four seasons but is not close to a new deal, and it’s very likely that he hits the market Tuesday when free agency begins.

If Lofton does hit the market, interest is expected to be significant for the linebacker.
