NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock reported from Clemson’s pro day on Thursday, where TE Dwayne Allen, DE Andre Branch and DT Brandon Thompson did not disappoint in their workouts.
Allen, who ran a 4.89-second 40-yard dash at the combine, chose not to run Friday, according to Mayock. Allen did nothing to hurt himself during the workout and still carries a second-round grade, per Mayock.
“He gets up the field, catches the ball and runs good routes, and that’s what he did (Friday),” Mayock said. “He’s fluid, he’s not an in-line heavy blocker, which probably keeps him out of the first round.”
Branch stood on all of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine but took part in position drills Friday, according to Mayock, who expects him to be selected between picks 25 to 40.
Mayock said Thompson ran a 5.16 in the 40 with a 1.77 10-yard split, which confirms his second-round status.
