The Jaguars and CB Rashean Mathis have agreed on a one-year, $5 million contract, league sources said Wednesday.
Mathis has been with the Jaguars for his entire nine-year career.
Mathis suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against the Colts in November, ending his season after just nine games. He told the Jaguars’ official website in February that he was still recovering from the injury but had no interest in retiring.
The 31-year-old has started all of his 125 career games. He made the Pro Bowl in 2006 after picking off a career-high eight passes.
He was a second-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, out of Bethune-Cookman.
