Irvin: Dolphins are Super Bowl team with Manning, Wayne

There’s no reason not to be optimistic about what could happen if your team wins the Peyton Manning sweepstakes. Now is the time.
The Dolphins are one of six teams reported to have begun their Manning hunt, and it wasn’t long before one of his former teammates — Reggie Wayne — said he “would love” to join his guy in Miami as part of a combo package.
Not one to undersell anything, NFL Network analyst Michael Irvin quickly jumped on that train of thought. Irvin called Miami the “perfect” fit for Manning, then went on to describe just how perfect it would be if both the quarterback and Wayne landed with the Dolphins.
“Can you see what that would be like? I say, instantly, they have a chance of going to the Super Bowl,” Irvin said on “NFL Total Access” Wednesday. The Dolphins, Irvin pointed out, were “0-7, they changed quarterbacks and went 6-9. Change it again and get Peyton Manning, I could see them in the Super Bowl.”
On paper, the Dolphins would certainly be dynamic with Manning, Wayne, Brandon Marshall and Reggie Bush behind a solid offensive line. About the only thing left would be for Matt Moore to awkwardly call them “Dream Team II.”
