Falcons, DE Biermann agree to deal for three years, up to $12M

The Falcons agreed on a deal with DE Kroy Biermann Wednesday. The team did not announce terms of the deal, but a league source said it is for three years and worth approximately $9 million, with a maximum value of about $12 million.

Biermann, 26, has 12.5 sacks and 143 tackles since the Falcons picked him in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

The defensive end started just one game in 2011 after starting 14 in 2010. He has returned two interceptions for touchdowns.
