The Oakland Raiders have begun contract talks with linebacker Kamerion Wimbley hoping to restructure his deal, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
If the sides cannot agree on a new deal, Oakland will release the pass rusher despite owing him $6.5 million in guaranteed money for 2012.
Wimbley, who played the first four season of his NFL career in Cleveland, had seven sacks for the Raiders last season after posting nine sacks in 2010.
