Dockett: Arizona is perfect fit for Manning

Darnell Dockett probably shouldn’t expect a Christmas card from Kevin Kolb after what he said on Tuesday.
That’s because Dockett, who said he believes in his current quarterback (that’s Kolb), told NFL Network he’d much rather have Peyton Manning leading the Cardinals.
Dockett started his open and unbridled recruitment by comparing Manning’s free-agent-to-be status with NBA star LeBron James‘ journey on the open market.
“I don’t personally have anything against our quarterbacks we have now, I feel confident in the quarterbacks we have now,” Dockett told “NFL Total Access” Tuesday. “I feel like next year is going to be our year. But, who wouldn’t want to play with Manning? Let’s be honest. The man is a legend. He knows his stuff. Plus, I’m going into my ninth year. I just feel like, why not play with another Hall of Famer?”
Ignoring for a moment that Dockett doesn’t even refer to Kolb by name, his vote of confidence for the current Cardinals QBs doesn’t exactly exude confidence.
In full sales mode, Dockett listed the warm weather, playing in a dome and a team he believes is a few pieces away from returning to the playoffs as selling points for the Cardinals. There’s also Larry Fitzgerald, plus a few other perks.
“Peyton can get a tan and everything,” Dockett argued. “We have the perfect fit for him right here in Arizona. He can get his number, my parking pass, free donuts on Saturdays, I’ll make sure my guys clean his cleats real well, and even my barber can come to his house and cut his hair. All he has to do is show up to practice and play in the games.”
A parking spot and donuts? Then it has to be pretty much decided.
