The Ravens released CB Chris Carr on Thursday, according to league sources.
Carr made only one start in nine games played last season, his third in Baltimore, after starting all 16 games in 2010. He was buried behind starters Cary Williams and Lardarius Webb and third CB Jimmy Smith, a first-round draft pick in 2011.
Carr thanked the Ravens organization on his Twitter page.
“Thanks everyone in bmore love the team and the city. It’s a business, I think it was the best for both parties.”
The Ravens soon will conduct a physical for CB Domonique Foxworth as well. Foxworth is coming off multiple injuries last season, and with a base salary around $7 million, he’s expected to be released or could be asked to return at a much lower salary if he proves to be healthy.
