The University of Missouri is a great location to get pro day workouts started this year. It’s a scout’s delight in every sense of the word, including breakfast and lunch, and a very well-organized event that gets team representatives in and out quickly.
As for the action on the field, 20 teams were present to watch 11 players work out on field turf. The highest-profile player was TE Michael Egnew, who I view as a top-5 player at his position, but no one did anything Thursday to change anyone’s mind about their draft profile. None of the players who worked out are likely early-round picks.
Four players had also attended the 2012 Scouting Combine:
Michael Egnew, TE — Weighed in at 251 pounds, had a 37 ½-inch vertical jump and an 11.3-inch broad jump. He stood on all of his combine numbers and workouts.
Dominique Hamilton, DL — Stood on all of his combine numbers and workouts.
Jerrell Jackson, WR — Took part in position drills and on all of his combine numbers and workouts.
Jacquies Smith, DL — Stood on all of his combine numbers and workouts.
Wesley Kemp, WR (6-foot-3 3/8, 223 pounds) — Had two runs of 4.55 seconds in the 40-yard dash, a 34 ½-inch vertical jump, 10-foot-1 broad jump, 4.25 short shuttle run, 6.86 three-cone drill and 18 bench press repetitions. He also took part in position drills.
Bo Brinkley, LS (6-4 1/8, 233) — Had runs of 4.86 and 4.87 seconds in the 40, a 33 ½-inch vertical jump, 9-7 broad jump, 4.24 short shutle run, 7.18 three-cone drill and did 17 bench press repetitions.
