Falcons ready to discuss extension with Ryan

INDIANAPOLIS — The Falcons plan to explore a contract extension with QB Matt Ryan in the coming weeks, a team source said Saturday.
Ryan, 26, has two years left on his six-year, $72 million rookie deal, but Atlanta wants to be proactive and work out a multiyear extension this offseason if possible.
The pace of the Ravens’ extension talks with Joe Flacco will play some role in the speed of negotiations for Ryan.
