RG3 would welcome competing with McCoy in Cleveland

INDIANAPOLIS — With the Browns repeatedly linked to a trade from No. 4 to No. 2 for Robert Griffin III in April’s draft, it’s not too early to consider a potential QB battle between him and Colt McCoy.

It wouldn’t be the first time they competed against each other.
The former Big 12 Conference rivals played once in college, in 2008 when McCoy was a Heisman Trophy candidate and Griffin was just a freshman trying to make a name for himself. It didn’t end well for Griffin, either, as McCoy’s fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns dominated Griffin’s Baylor Bears 45-21. Griffin completed just 6 of 19 passes for 71 yards.
Not that Griffin is holding any grudges, but he remembers it and would welcome the opportunity to compete with McCoy for an NFL starting gig.
“It’d be fun to compete with Colt,” Griffin said. “I played him one year in college, and he beat us, so maybe I’d like to go out there and beat him. It’d be great, it’d be an honor to go to Cleveland.”
Browns fans, you like hearing that, don’t you?
