Richardson will work out for NFL teams March 27

INDIANAPOLIS — Former Alabama RB Trent Richardson will work out for NFL teams March 27, a league source said Thursday.

Richardson, who’s recovering from minor knee surgery, will not participate in on-field drills at the NFL Scouting Combine this week.

A league source said Wednesday that Richardson, who suffered the injury during preparations for the BCS national championship game, would be ready for Alabama’s pro day, which is scheduled for March 7.

Richardson is considered by many to be one of the top running back prospects in this year’s NFL Draft.
