INDIANAPOLIS — This is my second Super Bowl trip, and there’s definitely a difference this year in Indy compared to last year’s experience in Dallas.

Last year, I heard a lot of,  “Hey that’s Stevie Johnson over there, let’s take your picture,” and had other NFL players coming up to me and telling me that they respected my game. That was pretty neat, considering my path to the NFL from junior college to Kentucky to the Buffalo Bills.

A lot of players during Super Bowl week are approached by fans for pictures and autographs. To the fans, I say don’t be nervous about asking me for a photo.

There’s no secret to approaching me. Do whatever you want to do.

“Hey, can I get a picture? You got a second?” It’s all good.

I don’t have a problem taking a picture with anybody or signing an autograph because that comes with the territory of being an NFL player. You don’t get into this league and try to make a name for yourself without expecting fans to acknowledge that you are who you are. It would be pretty selfish on an athlete’s part not to expect that.

Personally, I don’t mind it at all. If a fan says, “I’m taking this picture and sending it to Egypt,” and they’re lying, it doesn’t matter. I’ll take the picture anyway. I don’t have an issue with any of that, just as long as I’m not in the middle of dinner or about to eat some food. If someone says, “Hey can you put that down and take a picture?” that’s probably not the best way to get a picture with me.
