Bill Belichick will not humor you on Media Day

INDIANAPOLIS — Remember the aforementioned 1930s football player guy? Well, he works for VH1, and he’s going from station to station at Media Day asking New England players to put on a red felt hat in the style of old Pat Patriot.

Patriots CB Devin McCourty does what his coach will not: try on the old-school patriot hat at Media Day. (Alix Drawec/NFL)
Devin McCourty accepted the request and wore the Party City accessory. So did Wes Welker, which makes sense when you remember he stepped off the team plane Sunday wearing form-fitting red pants.
You know who didn’t accept the request? Bill Belichick. This makes sense when you remember he’s Bill Belichick.
Also futilely attempting to bring out the coach’s sense of humor was Artie Lange, the former Howard Stern sidekick who now has a Direct TV sports talk show with fellow comedian Nick DiPaolo.
Trying to get a straight answer out of Lange proved harder than finding Chad Ochocinco in a box score. Lange said he “pissed off” Belichick by introducing himself as Pam Oliver.
This is Artie Lange. This is Pam Oliver.
This is Media Day.
