Belichick’s wardrobe doesn’t suit Welker

INDIANAPOLIS — If there’s a “worst dressed list” at Super Bowl XLVI, Wes Welker has a nominee: his coach, Bill Belichick.
Welker wasn’t too kind when NFL Network’s Deion Sanders asked the Patriots’ star receiver for one thing people don’t know about Belichick.
“Y’all probably know this, but he’s a terrible dresser,” Welker said of Belichick, who’s known for wearing his trademark hooded sweatshirt on the sidelines during games. “There was one the other day where he had ‘Team Bass Masters’ on. There was something wrong with his sweatshirt, I’ll tell you that.”
While he doesn’t think too highly of Belichick’s wardrobe, Welker was complimentary of Sanders’ ability to dress, including the fact he could pull off the pink suit that Patriots LB Brandon Spikes recently sported.
“He can rock anything,” Welker said. “That’s Prime Time we’re talking about right now.”
Welker answered questions while sporting a beard, which he started growing based on a friendly reminder of his team’s success.
“Somebody on Twitter told me, ‘Every time you’ve gone with the mustache, we haven’t lost a game,’ and I was like, ‘You’re right. It’s time for a playoff ‘stache,’ ” Welker said. “This has kind of been the deal, and it’s kind of gotten us to this point, so we’re going to keep on rocking it.”
He added, “I think, back in ’07, I had it for like a month, month-and-a-half. It seems like I had it in training camp one time and now, here it is.”
