Countdown to the Super Bowl: 8 days

We are now eight days away from the Super Bowl. And while we could pay homage to the No. 8 worn by three-time Super Bowl champion QB Troy Aikman (the best quarterback of the 1990s), we instead shall honor legendary WR Jerry Rice, who had eight career touchdown receptions in the Super Bowl.
It’s a rather staggering number when you consider Rice played in only four Super Bowls (three with the 49ers and one with the Raiders).
Rice twice had three touchdowns in a Super Bowl — against the Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV and against the Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX. (Rice had a touchdown against the Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII and against the Bucs in Super Bowl XXXVII.)
Rice laps the competition, as WRs John Stallworth, Lynn Swann, Cliff Branch and Antonio Freeman each have three career touchdown receptions.
Rice holds a number of Super Bowl records, starting with 589 receiving yards in those four games. Rice also set the single-game Super Bowl record with 215 yards against the Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII.
But what about the longest reception in a Super Bowl? That belongs to Panthers WR Muhsin Muhammad, who had an 85-yard TD reception against the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVIII.
