Spagnuolo, Devaney out in St. Louis

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora and Michael Lombardi are stationed in the NFL Media newsroom Monday as they track all the coach, front-office and player movement following the final day of the regular season. Watch NFL Network and check back with this blog for the latest.

Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer reported earlier Monday that the Rams fired coach Steve Spagnuolo. Lombardi reported that general manager Billy Devaney also is out.

The team later confirmed both moves.

The Rams compiled a 12-52 record under Devaney, including a 2-14 record this season. Lombardi believes, despite the losing, the Rams will be an attractive landing spot for head-coaching candidates, citing a strong young quarterback in Sam Bradford, ownership that doesn’t interfere and the team having the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
