Got Lions? Get ‘em in your lineup

There is no ambiguity in the Lions’ plan for Week 17. Coach Jim Schwartz intimated to reporters Monday that he doesn’t expect to sit any of his key players this week against the Packers. That means you can feel free to start Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson or any other Detroit players on your roster. The Lions offense is as hot as any unit in the NFL right now and Stafford is spreading the ball pretty effectively between Johnson, Nate Burleson, Titus Young and TE Brandon Pettigrew.
The other variable will be what the Packers decide to do with their lineup. With everything already clinched, does Mike McCarthy allow guys like Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson to play a full four quarters? So far, Green Bay hasn’t given any indication that it plans to take its foot off the gas. Nonetheless, it’s a defense that can be exploited. Besides, if you have the likes of Stafford or Megatron, are you really going to sit them this week? We didn’t think so.
