Cruz’s injury, Bradshaw’s return worth monitoring

Giants WR Victor Cruz (hip) landed on the team’s injury report Wednesday, raising some concern over his status for Sunday’s game against the Packers. With Mario Manningham (knee) sitting out practice, New York could be shorthanded at the WR position heading into what is expected to be a shootout.
The G-Men aren’t as deep as the Packers at receiver, so losing Cruz and Manningham would certainly take a toll on Eli Manning and the rest of the offense. But it does mean another chance for Ramses Barden to be a play maker opposite Hakeem Nicks.
On a more positive note, RB Ahmad Bradshaw told reporters he plans to play Sunday. While the Packers have been better than average against the run this season, Bradshaw’s ability as both a runner and receiver (his 24 receptions are fifth-best on the team) makes him more versatile and valuable than Brandon Jacobs, whose production has been inconsistent.
