Orton has fantasy value again

Now that QB Kyle Orton has found a new home in Kansas City, his fantasy value is trending upward. After Tyler Palko struggled with three interceptions in Monday’s loss to New England, the door opened for coach Todd Haley to consider a new starter. It’s difficult to imagine Orton starting Sunday against the Steelers. But with a week to get up to speed, he could have a real opportunity to be the starter in Week 13.

That’s the positive. The negative is that the Week 13 matchup is against a tough Bears defense. It gets no easier in Week 14 when Kansas City visits the New York Jets. Nonetheless, Orton as a starter has some value in deep leagues and should boost the value of WRs Dwayne Bowe and Jon Baldwin. And a Week 16 (fantasy championship week) game against Oakland’s benevolent defense could be a boon to fantasy owners. With so many quality quarterbacks injured, snag Orton from the waiver wire.
