Warner: ‘No question’ I’m retired

For all the Bears fans who are buying into the rumors that Kurt Warner is going to come walking through that door and save the season … well, it’s not going to happen.
The dots are easy to connect, given how Warner wrote the beginning chapters of his career playing for Mike Martz, now the offensive coordinator for the Jay Cutler-less Bears.
“I know there’s going to be those rumors that I may come out of retirement and reunite with Mike Martz,” Warner told NFL Network Monday. “But, just so everyone out there knows, I’m staying retired. I’m happy with where I’m at and where my life is right now. No question about that.”
Well, no question in Warner’s mind. It seemed to be there for everyone else. It’s not that far-fetched, other than the fact Warner is retired. Not the Brett Favre-style of retirement, but actually retired.
For the record, Warner does believe the Bears should pursue a veteran quarterback who is somewhat comfortable in Mart’s scheme. But just not him.
