Texans’ Schaub has “significant” foot injury

Texans coach Gary Kubiak announced Monday that QB Matt Schaub has a “significant” foot injury and reports have him finished for the season. That Houston is making Schaub’s injury public on the Monday of their bye week, gives an indication of how serious it is. It also means…welcome back to a starting role, Matt Leinart! Leinart’s career numbers as a starter are underwhelming — in 17 starts, he’s thrown 13 touchdowns and 15 interceptions while averaging just 197.6 yards per game.
But before fantasy owners write Leinart off altogether, keep in mind that Andre Johnson will be back for Houston in Week 12. Unfortunately, Leinart won’t have a lot of favorable matchups going forward. Two of his first three starts are against Jacksonville and Cincinnati, who are both in the top ten when it comes to shutting down fantasy quarterbacks. With the bye weeks ending by the time Leinart sees game action, there are plenty of better options available at quarterback.
