Brandon Marshall might not be the most likely candidate to step on a soap box and testify to the unity of the one-win Miami Dolphins. But these Dolphins just could be the NFL’s version of “Band of Brothers.”

Week after week, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano has stepped to the podium to convince the masses (or at least fans) that his team still is playing hard and hasn’t given up. Week after week, his spiel follows a loss. But the never-say-die-but-never-win Dolphins were convincing enough to save Sparano’s job.

That all changed this week, when Sparano’s team “fought their asses off” and actually won a game. Which brings us back to Marshall, whom we believe still might have been giddy 24 hours after Sunday’s 31-3 victory at Kansas City.

“We love Coach Sparano,” Marshall told “Around the League” on Monday. “I love him, I love his family, and one thing about our locker room is we hold each other accountable. We play for one another, and that’s what makes our group special. Like I said yesterday, our record doesn’t show it, but we’re a special group. We’re a family, we do everything together, and we’ll grow from this victory.”

Perhaps it’s possible to be “special” and 1-7 at the same time. It all depends on who you ask for a definition. If nothing else, it seems Sparano’s one-for-all message has reached every corner of Mimai’s locker room.
