It was believed that Tim Tebow would have an 11-game audition to show whether or not he could be an NFL quarterback. It might not even last that long.

Tebow is hearing it from his doubters after just two starts.

One of those doubters, Denver Post columnist Mark Kiszla, joined “Around the League” on Monday to summarize a scathing piece he wrote after the quarterback’s dismal showing against the Lions.

“That’s pretty easy: He’s the worst quarterback in the NFL,” Kiszla explained. “He’s totally unprepared to play quarterback. He can’t make basic throws that an NFL quarterback does, and he doesn’t read NFL defenses.”

If coach John Fox’s belief that Tebow gives the Broncos a better chance to win than former starter Kyle Orton doesn’t hold water, it won’t last long in the locker room. It might not be a reach to suggest Tebow is the water cracking the rock in Denver.

“I believe that some of the players inside that building know that they don’t have a very good chance to win games with Tim Tebow playing quarterback,” Kiszla said.

Many players have been given less than three games to prove they can play in the league. But the Broncos have to find out what they have in Tebow. It’s just that no one has ever done it with more written about him.
