As Trent Cole sees it, the Eagles are more “team” and less “dream.”
Unfortunately for Cole and many (errr, all) of the rest of the Eagles, the team has been stuck with the moniker since newcomer Vince Young used it after signing during the offseason. It stuck, and it’s not going away anytime soon.
Cole is just the latest to try to put some distance between the Eagles and the label on “Around the League” Friday. We can’t blame him for being sick and tired of it. Trent, we feel your pain.
“I totally hate that,” Cole said. “We’re not the dream team. We’re like any other team. We have great players just like any other team has great players. When you have a bunch of talented, great players on one team, they come from another team, and they’ve been relied on to make all the plays. But now, they’re on a team that has a lot of great players, and a lot of great things can happen, but you have to learn how to play with these players. This is a brand new team.”
Cole is right, but it’s difficult to cut any team with a self-appointed nickname any slack.
