Bears safety Major Wright looks to have avoided what initially appeared to be a more serious injury during the third quarter against the Saints.
Wright suffered what appeared to be a head injury while making a head-first hit on Saints TE Jimmy Graham. After several tense moments down on the field with trainers kneeled over him and players from both teams taking a knee on the field, Wright was eventually able to leave the field under his own power. The FOX game broadcast reported he was taken to the locker room.
With Chris Harris (hamstring) out, Wright made the start against the Saints. The Bears haven’t made an announcement, but it would be a surprise to see him back. Craig Steltz and Brandon Meriweather are in the game at safety.
