Newton continues assault on record books

Another week, another record for Cam Newton – and that’s just through one quarter of Carolina’s home opener against the Packers.
Newton set a rookie record last week with 422 passing yards against the Cardinals. With 151 yards in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against Green Bay, Newton has already set a new record for most passing yards by a QB in his first two NFL starts. What’s impressive is that the record had been held by Hall of Fame QB Otto Graham, who was a 28-year-old “rookie” when he threw for 523 yards in his first two NFL starts for the Cleveland Browns (the NFL didn’t count his numbers when the Browns played in the AAFC).
