The Jets lost a key piece to their offensive line Sunday when starting center Nick Mangold limped off the field with a right ankle injury against the Jaguars.
Mangold was injured during the first quarter when another player rolled up on his right leg from behind. He left the field under his own power, but he was limping badly. He was replaced by Colin Baxter.
Mangold walked off the sideline and headed into the locker room for more tests, according to the team. Officially, he’s questionable to return.
UPDATE: The Jets announced during the third quarter that Mangold is doubtful to return.
UPDATE II: NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported after the game that Jets coach Rex Ryan said X-rays on Mangold came back negative. Mangold will have an MRI exam on Monday.
