Jags won’t ride Marcedes against Jets

The Jaguars’ road to their second win will be a little more difficult Sunday when they face the Jets without TE Marcedes Lewis.
Thatm according to Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer, who reported early Sunday that Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio is playing it safe with Lewis, who’s dealing with a strained calf.
This is particularly bad news for QB Luke McCown, already tasked with the challenge of handling Rex Ryan‘s menacing blitz packages. Lewis had two receptions for 28 yards before leaving the season opener against the Titans.
UPDATE: Lewis took to his Twitter feed to express his disappointment: “Pretty annoyed I can’t join my team in battle today…which means that I will contribute in different ways..hence why its calle #TEAM! Leeggooo!”
