If the Chargers pose a second-half comeback today at Gillette Stadium, it will likely come without starting WR Malcom Floyd.
The Chargers announced during the third quarter Floyd was questionable to return to the game because of a groin injury. Bryan Walters has taken Floyd’s place in the lineup.
The Patriots have also been hit by several injuries. Safety Patrick Chung (hand) was announced as questionable to return and has some type of brace on his right hand. Cornerback Ras-I Dowling (thigh), who left the game during the first half and hasn’t been back, is also questionable. Punter Zoltan Mesko left the game with a left knee injury and is probable to return.
UPDATE: The Patriots announced during the fourth quarter that TE Aaron Hernandez is probable to return after suffering a knee injury. Hernandez, though, wasn’t on the field with the offense on the team’s next drive.
